    X-Plan pin for Mazda 3 for Daughter's 16th BDay

Former ST owner who downgraded to Honda Civic Si (love the stick and the gas mileage!) last December. Daughter has upcoming 16th birthday two days after Christmas and I would love to reward her for being a great kid and an excellent student with her request for a Mazda 3. By chance do any of...

    ST Final Days

Purchased a Honda Civic Si today to replace the ST (being sold to out of state family friends). All in all, not a bad vehicle ('01 Job 2) but it was definitely a love/hate relationship. Interestingly, I don't know if this site helped this perception or hurt it. You guys (and gals) definitely...

    GM version of X-plan?

Considering two new vehicles, Volvo C70 (conv.) and the Saab 9-3 convertible. I realize that X-Plan pins are sometimes available through the kindness of others at this site but was wondering if GM has a similar program that doesn't require one to be a GM employee? I've searched but haven't...

    Cruise Control Recall Question

Will they hand over the part and allow self installation or do you have to allow them to do it?

    Infamous Cracked Elbow

I've been watching for it for some time and today finally began to see the formation of a crack on the top side at the curve in the hose ('01 with 76K mi.). Went to AutoZone and thanks to previous posts picked up the S-3007 hose ($2.99). For those who have changed just the hose am I correct in...

    Close Call Tonight

Went to pick up daughter today at classmate's home. Had adult brother sitting in backseat with vehicle running while I stepped inside residence to get daughter (front door open and storm door with glass so I could see outside). Mom of classmate commented on vehicle backing up outside in...

    Sam's Club/Costco Insurance

Anyone by chance use the services provided by the listed businesses, and if so, are you pleased with the service? I notice that homeowners insurance is also offered.

    What would you do?

Wife missing wallet as of yesterday. Have taken all the standard precautions (no activity on CC's). Plastic key card in wallet for her vehicle which would allow for access to house/garage (DL with address in wallet). Question has been raised as to whether or not it was taken at local...

Full enclosure radio headphones and a confession

Almost time to head off and support my NATIONAL CHAMPION Longhorns again and I would really like to be able to listen to the radio broadcast as well. I've tried the Sony foam pad headphones and was never able to hear the broadcast with cheering. Any suggestions on full enclosure headphones...

I don't believe this service explanation

Long story well documented CEL with P0401 code. Replaced DPFE as well as EGR sensor. Dealership calls and says that the problem is the DPFE and that the tubes are twisted. Huh? How can you twist the outflow tubes to the DPFE sensor? You can follow the tubes all the way down to where they...

    What is the part name?

I'm still playing with my CEL P0401. As I understand it from speaking with the service manager at a local dealer my options are the DPFE (already replaced), the EGR, or the vertically mounted sensor which is directly behind the EGR valve. Anyone know the name of this part so I can get a price...

    Code 0401, Not Sensor?

Noted slight miss yesterday leaving work and sure enough CEL came on. Autozone gives me the 0401 code and I've got the DPFE sensor on order with arrival today. Because of the slight missing however does this diminish the chance of it being the sensor itself?

    Computer/Router assistance

I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router which I am attempting to install on my B-I-Law's wireless DSL network. I have used this router in the past and when packaged away it was fully operational. I've attempted to hook this unit up on a couple of occasions but am unsuccessful getting the...

    Fuel Pump Relay

Brother told this morning by dealership that his hard cold start issue is the fuel pump relay and that they want to charge $200 plus to replace, as well as update the PCM. Is the relay at the fuel pump itself (inside tank) or in engine compartment, and second, is charge considered appropriate?

    Transmission Service Helpful

I've got the ST in for the transmission service. I mentioned to the service rep. that I had noted some minimal changes in the shifting and he commented that it wouldn't be helped by the service. I recall others commenting on how they could perceive a difference in their vehicle following this...

Can Someone with an Extang Cover Assist?

I received my Extang cover today and so much for the "easy installation". After 3+ hours of not being able to get the rear bar to snap into place we finally measured the lengths of the cab and tailgate bars. My cab bar (silver portion only to where it connects with black plastic corner...

    I Can't Believe They Can't Duplicate It!

I've got the ST in the shop for the hard start issue that is almost certainly the fuel pump/loss of pressure issue and they are telling me they can't duplicate the problem. There hasn't been an instance over the past month or so in which if that truck sits for more than an hour that it fails to...
