    Wipers Intermittant

Today, I needed the wipers and they only half work. Washer function with three wipes = OK On in the fast speed = OK On in the normal speed or any of the delay settings, they stop mid sweep. Any ideas? I figured with wipers it was all or nothing... guess I'm wrong.

    200,000 mile ST

I topped 200,000 miles in 2002 ST back in March... today it clicked over 205,000. I have to say this is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Never left me stranded. Second motor (first was replaced under warranty) and original tranny (never rebuilt, although at 175k I did put a...

    Sunroof problem

I had one of the plastic tabs break that helps lower the wind deflector as the sun roof closes. Went to my local dealer today, they don't sell the plastic clip/tab thingy. BUT, I can buy the whole deflector unit for $233. Nuts! Anyone had these break before and know of a better way...

    Tow Receiver

Looks pretty cool. We used something similar on our farm pickups in the 1970's to dampen the trailers being towed. http://www.sparebumper.com/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=5

    hydro-gen bolt on

I stumbled onto these guys located in Florida. http://hydro-generator.webs.com/ My understanding is that it take significant amounts of current to get even a small amount of hydrogen gas and that makes it impracticable for these type applications. Anyone else heard of these guys...

    Escape Alternator change

I know why I love my Trac after taking a look at the Escape's engine bay. The alternator quit charging. It looks like I've got to pull the right front wheel, half shaft and maybe i'll be able to get the thing out from behind the motor. Anyone else tackled this monster before...

    Master Cylinder

Anyone changed a Master Cylinder? Left campus this morning, brake pedal went to the floor but I got some brakes at the bottom of the pedal travel. By the time I got out of traffic, I got the Check Engine Light and the brake light is on (low fluid). I haven't read the codes yet. Fluid...

    OT: Pontiac Montana Front clip

The wife got broadsided by a huge deer this morning going to work. He must have been running full speed with a death wish. He hit just in front of the driver's front tire and crushed that fender all the way to the inner liner. His head crunched the grille and hood. But, my wife's fine and...

OT - No Treats in Sumter, SC

I don't have the link. In SUMTER, SC a 12 year old was gunned down by a 22 year old guy with an AK47 when the kid knocked on his door for halloween. He never even opened the door, just opened fire! Sadly, the kid didn't survive, his dad and nine year brother were on the guys porch...

    OT: Fantasy Football twist

With fantasy football leagues starting up, I found a cool online game that lets you build a couple players and actually have them play the game with you acting more like their agent. Follow this link and check it out for yourself.

    Duelers or Cross Ter SUV

I know this question has come up many times before. Which is the better tire for the ST. I've had the Wranglers and then got the Michelin Cross Terrain SUV. The quiet ride has been wonderful. Alas, it's time to put new tires all around. Anyone had both and which did you prefer? I...

OT: More Reasons to avoid Biofuels

To continue my rant about reasons E85 is purely "the devil's holy water"... This year about a million fewer acres of corn will be grown. With the government's ethanol mandate, BOHICA folks because we're about to get royally hosed on every economic front. Corn (or maize) is more...

    OT: Any Escape Owners?

I'm thinking of getting a car for my kid whose going off to college. With Wisconsin winters, I'm leaning towards a Ford Escape 4x4 XLT. I was looking around and found a 02 XLT 4x4 with 85k miles. Anyone have an opinion about these compact SUV's? Thanks, Larry

    Front Bearing Hubs

My wonderful 2002 ST has just peaked 113k miles. The first thing I heard was a growling from the left front wheel when taking turns. It's not the clacking of a half shaft. It sounds more a low growl and doesn't take much turn pressure to cause it. I see complete hub sets listed...
