Could also be the turn signal harness in the column. Common issue in Gen 1 models. Try tilting your column all the way up and see if they work then. If so, pull the column trim and reposition the harness so it won't pull out of the turn signal switch when tilting the wheel down to your driving...

Depending upon what you're looking at, the sensors are most likely either cam position (front of the block/timing cover) or cam timing (top of head through the cam cover)... No PCV on the newer modular engines. No EGR or thermactor air systems either... HTH... Mark
