I had the same problem on my 2001 ST. The repair shop replaced the fuel pump 3 times because of a non starting problem. The 4th fuel pump solved the problem because I requested it be replaced with a Motorcraft fuel pump. A year later.......never had the problem again...and it is quiet. I...
My new 2012 Kia Soul has active headrests that are so soft and hit the back of my head perfectly....even at 6-3. So much more comfortable than my 2001 ST.
112,000 and have not had 1 problem with my transmission with original factory fluid. Too many past experiences with fluid change and transmission going out before I even get home. I'll drive it this way until it does go out.
112k......NEVER changed the trans fluid.......even my Ford dealer said not to. Runs as good as the day it was new. Great vehicle. Have only done 2 brake jobs and 1 master cylinder.....nothing else has been replaced. I only wish Ford kept making the ST.
Geez....the ST hits 100k and has started giving check engine codes every month. What has anyone found to be the problem for code P401? I know it says EGR problem, but isn't it more common for it to be the DPFE? Any help is always appreciated.
For sale....Ford Motorcraft part KCV-190 (4L5Z-6758-HA). This is the emission line to the PCV valve. NOTE: it "DOES NOT" include the rubber corner part that connects to the PCV valve. Make an offer plus postage. Anything better than throwing it away!
Just replaced mine today. Yes you have to buy the complete part. $51. OUCH!!!! If anyone can use this part....less the rubber corner to the PCV valve, I will sell it extremely cheap plus postage.
My ST is running great. Yesterday the check engine light came on and gave a code PO171. I know what the code is indicating, but what is the logical repair for this code?
I've used straight paint thinner for years on numerous vehicles........works great. Just make sure you use a soft cloth on a cold finish.....then rewax the area.
