Vehicle For Sale Sportrac for sale

Posting a link for Motorcars Limited who has a 2005 Sportrac for sale with only 11K or so miles. I bought my 2010 Limited with only 66K miles on it last November and had it shipped across country to me. It’s been as close to showroom new as you could get. An excellent dearlership to do...

    2019 Ranger disappointment...

Long time member but haven't posted in many years. 2001 ST owner and put 255,000 miles on it. Finally traded in for a 2008 XLT with V8 and 4x4. It now has 208,000 miles and going strong. I absolutely LOVE my truck...(as the song goes!) Knowing that someday I will need a new ride I accepted...

    gen 2 rear springs

Yes I had it installed and it works perfectly. Raised the rear about an inch and 1/2 and left the front as is. Gives the truck a slight raise front to back but not excessive. With the bed fully loaded and when trailoring the truck is perfectly level. Steve

    rear window sun deflector

You are correct '07...I put one on mine. The Gen2 rear windows are exactly the same as the Gen1s. $58.10 plus tax and shipping from FastPartsNetwork.com (its a Ford part) I don't recall the part number but just order one the fits the 01-05 ST. If you ask for a 07-10 the answer is...

    gen 2 rear springs

Just fyi...talked to my local spring shop and the same one who installed the extra leafs for me in my 01. They said they could have MOOG build some springs for me, costing in the 600-800 range including install. The other option suggested was a lift kit. The only one I can find for it is made...

    gen 2 rear springs

Red...if it was just my trailer I doubt it would be an issue. My camper is just a 13 ft. Scamp and the tongue weight is probably 150-200 lbs. BUT...I have a topper on the bed and it was loaded to the to the max, but don't know what the weight of all the stuff was...maybe 500-600 lbs. My...

    gen 2 rear springs

I'd sure would like to stiffen the rear springs (not a lot but just to help it when towing) of my 2008 XLT 4.4 but haven't been able to find any company that makes them. Even something to help them under load would be nice. I towed back to NY from Florida and though it didn't have a...

    08 rear sway bar upgrade

Psycareyo...maybe there's something else involved like a bit stiffer rear springs, or even something like the mounting position of the bar or even its length could result in some improvement. More important than the sway bar for me is the rear springs...I'd like them a bit stiffer for the...

    08 rear sway bar upgrade

Hey Todd...glad you got it worked out. I ok with the gas fill being on the passenger side, but I'm sure that because of that the exhaust must exit on the opposite side...one thing always leads to another. I didn't mention that my only other "issue" is the BP logo on the gas cap...my...

    08 rear sway bar upgrade

Per a previous post on the topic, I've been contemplating swapping the rear sway bar on my 08 with the larger 09/10 sway bar. However, after doing some digging, I've found that the 07/08 rear sway bar is 23 mm (.905511 inches) and the 09/10 rear sway bar is 25 mm (.984251 inches)...

    my 2008 and its plugs

Hugh...but I have to admit that the 2001 wasn't much of what I like in a TRUCK until I stiffed up the suspension by a bunch: sway bars; bilsteins; road active susp; end links; bushings; and a extra leaf in the springs. Yeah, it road like a truck but I could go dang near anywhere with it, and...

    my 2008 and its plugs

Thanks Bill...mine are black, not brown and the build date for the truck was 09/07 so I guess its the original style. But I guess its not worth dealing with and just make sure the appropriate procedure is done when the are due to be replaced. Todd...thanks for the list. I'm tickled pink...

    my 2008 and its plugs

Well, I'm sure enjoying my recently purchased 2008 (4x4 V8 XLT) yet its not the "TRUCK" my old 2001 was in some ways (got to go a lot slower when driving off-road like forest logging roads, etc.). But the Gen2 has a lot of stuff to like about it, not the least of which is the very, very nice...

    2007 rear window retro fit??

Todd Z: Thanks for the explanation. I figured there hads to be one. So they got the 5-star and then just reverted back to what they originally had??? Good grief! I like the rear window principally becuase I travel a lot with my three labs who ride in the cab so when I step out I'm...

    2007 rear window retro fit??

Todd...I went through this same exercise about a month ago. Stumbled on a 2007 at a good price to replace my 2001 with 234,000. Also like you it was hard to give up the old trac. I didn't get the 2007 solely because of the rear window. The dealership bent over backwards trying to get one...

    Joining the GEN2 ranks

Yup, I miss my limited slip as well. Plus my 01 had a 3.73 gear and the new 08 has a 3.55. Better for mileage I guess, but I can definitely tell the difference. The 4x4 auto is different too...there is just something weird about my truck deciding when it needs traction to all 4 wheels...

    2008 sway bar question

Where is "down" Todd? Sounds like fun. I was under the impression you are in CT, so it would be "up" I think, since I'm in Florida. And even then, not even some good BBQ will get me any further north than I am right now! Thanks. Steve

    Joining the GEN2 ranks

Yes, Gavin, no doubt. Though I was totally pleased with the 4.0 as far as power even when towing my camper. Spent some time in the turtle lane going over the rockies on my trip out west and back last year but other than that it was great. But the added pick up and go of the 4.6 is definitely...

    2008 sway bar question

Ok thanks. I have no complaints about this trucks handling so far. Seems pretty stable. Maybe a tad bit of rollover upon turn entry but then the weight transfers it takes a good "set" through the corners it seems. I'll put it on my "to do later" list. Doesn't look like to difficult of a...

    Joining the GEN2 ranks

Dave...I traded it in and they gave me $3600. for it. Far from what it was worth considering the shape it was in (flawless actually), despite the mileage. If I was back home I would have tried to sell it locally but since I'm in my temporary quarters here in Florida it would have been just way...
