Well after 13 years, 202400 miles of always getting me to where I needed to get, it was time to let my 2002 ST go. Transmission decided to give out on her, but she still got me to where I needed to be. Will see if my dad gets her going again.
Just wanted to say thanks to the site/members...

I'm guessing you have the factory sub which is why you have three plugs. There is a separate plug adaptor for the sub that you will need besides the aftermarket to factory adaptor. The sub adaptor will run off the RCA jacks in the aftermarket unit. Search for Metra harness #70-5517,
May be a plugged fuel vent line or leak in the EVAP system.
Check for a loose/missing hose to the EVAP canister which may be causing the fuel smell.Other possible issues could be a bad gas cap, or a split rubber line from the filler neck,
It may be the IAC and the sound you say that comes from the air box and tube may be the ST sucking air as the IAC fluctuates and causes the erratic idle. It can be more noticeable specially if the air silencer was removed from the air box and/or the little hoses that connect to the air tube...
Looks like it's more of a replacement for the factory plastic cover on the ST that shields the radiator below. Since it's made out of steal and extends back, then it acts somewhat as a skid plate.
As others have noted, it's staged but funny. CLOSED COURSE PROFESSIONAL DRIVER DO NOT ATTEMPT.
That's an aftermarket cup holder. I have that exact one in my ST. Its sides open/close to fit the size of whatever can/cup you place on it.

My 02 also wouldn't start once after I parked at the store
. It would not crank, still had power to turn on radio/lights/locks etc... it was a loose battery cable, the positive had loosen at the post. It wasn't off the post, just loose enough not to make enough contact. Tightened it and good...
On my 02 the light doesn't come and the OD doesn't engage or disengage because the actual wire cable inside the shifter broke. For some reason at least on mine there's not enough slack to allow the wire cable inside to move without damage/stretch when selecting gears and eventually one to many...
I "painted" mine with 3M Rubberized Undercoating......looks like they were LineX/Rhino covered. Holding up well, it's been about 3 years since I sprayed them.
I know that on my '02 ST, the front driver window is the same window in the '95-'01 Explorer. I had the driverside window replaced with one that used to be on a '99 Explorer.
I also know that the front seats out of the Mercury '97-'01 Mountaineer (same as the '95-'01 Explorers) directly...
I had the same thing. I used a plastic window tint/decal applicator tool as a spacer/bump stop. I wedged the applicator tool between the frame and the bracket from below, so as to provide a small lift and act as a buffer between the bottom of the bracket and the frame. I did this to the...
Just had this happen about 30min ago.Unlocked with remote and when I turned the key to start her up, nada. Remembered reading this post earlier so right away I checked the negative post. Yup, loose. Tightened it back and started right up.
Check the rubber boot that covers the wires going into the door (when you open the driver side door) My '02 had both mirrors stop working. It was a pinched wire inside the rubber boot that caused them to stop. The wire in question is (at least on my '02) a light orange with black stripe on it. I...
