    Assaulted in New Orleans

Didn't the cops at least offer you a bite of their donut? Unfortunately, there are a lot of down and out people in Louisiana and other areas devastated by Katrina. But such an incident as your unfortunate attack could happen most anywhere.....sign of the times. Glad you're both safe. Barry

    03 Fuel Pump

Thanks for your assistance on the fuel pump. The truck sat in a parking lot for 4 days....I tried starting it 8 different times over the course of those four days. The fuel pump never came on. Relay and fuse were fine. This problem has been going on now for two months stranding me on seven...

    Back motorhome adventure [w/ pics]

Unfortunately my ST is an automatic. Anyway, I hope you didn't stay at the MT. Shasta KOA campground. We found it to be not much different from staying in a Walmart parking lot....and for $40+.... what a rip! We left and drove on up to Ashland instead. Isn't Crater Lake absolutely amazing? You...

    03 Fuel Pump

Thanks for the tip, Todd. This has been the third Ford truck I have had and have had trouble with all of them. One had a cracked head among many other things. The F150 was always crapping out with faulty ignition coils. My Sport Trac only has 32k on it! All the best, Barry

    Back motorhome adventure [w/ pics]

Nice pictures! We were up there in July....much warmer though! :D Does your Sport Trac have a manual or automatic tranny? Did you have to do anything to adapt it for towing? Barz

    03 Fuel Pump

Anyone know what I can expect to pay for a new fuel pump for my "03? Also, is it a major hassle to drop the gas tank and replace it? If I have it replaced by an auto repair shop, about how many hours for labor can I espect to be nailed for? Thanks, Barry

    Fuel Shutoff Revisited

Tom, for a fuel pump to be "cold" how long would you speculate that the vehicle must sit before you would call the pump cold? Sometimes the truck has sat for an hour or two and still wouldn't start. Yet at other times, it could be just a matter of a few minutes. I agree with you that the relay...

    Fuel Shutoff Revisited

Will replace the relay and let you know what happens in about 3 weeks cuz that's usually about when it is due to crap out next. I usually keep the gas tank about half full but will enjoy thumping it when and if it happens after I replace the relay. Thanks for your imput.

    Fuel Shutoff Revisited

re: original post of 9-30-07 Well folks....it's happened again. Got stuck in the parking lot of Home Depot three weeks ago. Tried the usual things...no luck. So I left the truck in the lot for 2 hours and when I went back...it started right up. Ran great until today when it did it...

    Fuel cut off switch

Well folks....it's happened again. Got stuck in the parking lot of Home Depot three weeks ago. Tried the usual things...no luck. So I left the truck in the lot for 2 hours and when I went back...it started right up. Ran great until today when it did it again...refused to start. It's been...

    Fuel cut off switch

The engine does crank....lights work, etc......something's just not allowing it to start. Like I said before, this is the fourth time it's done this in six weeks. It is not cold or damp here so moisture is not a problem. It's so bizarre. Three out of the four times my wife was sitting in the...

    Fuel cut off switch

thanks Paul.....I just looked it up and found out that there are a lot of components involved in this module. I don't know why it would not accept the key at one moment but would accept it several hours later. It's frustrating...to say the least. Best regards, Barry

    Fuel cut off switch

I have been stranded four times in the last six weeks. I have changed the fuel filter. I have removed and replaced the fuel relay and related fuse. I have reset the fuel cut off switch each time as well. The truck still refused to start.....but will eventually start several hours later...

    climate vents stopped working

Had a problem with auto fuel shut off so I was fooling around down in the passenger floor/firewall area. Apparently the trouble was the fuel filter which I subsequently changed. Truck runs fine now but the vents will not work properly. Only the defroster or the foot vent will work. The dash...
