Probably frozen to the hub with rust. I always spray PB blaster and let sit overnight. Then wack it with a rubber mallet. If does not budge use a steel hammer and smack between the studs to loosen it up. Repeat as needed.
My gasket was rusting and fluid was coming out of it where the rust had built up. Not a believer in Ford's reusable metal tranny pan gaskets. Bought a felpro one from Rock Auto - works great. Also used the hand pump and it worked fine, about 3-5 pumps for each quarts. Quite suprised how well it...
Hard to tell from the pic. Sounds like a tranny pan gasket leaking to me. But could be from the transfer case. My ATF was as dark as oil @100k. May want to drain it and change filter and gasket soon anyhow. Put in a drain plug too.
My upper radiator hose pulled away ever so slightly to look like the radiator was leaking at the same spot. Pulled it snug and tightened the heck out of it and has not leaked since and overfill tank stays full, just a thought.
My pan gasket was leaking recently, dropped the pan and found the reusable gasket had rusted to the pan. Fluid was leaking through it. Replaced gasket with a felpro gasket and sealer. Also put in a drain plug for the future.
Ok that truck never moved...Honestly I could not tell, could be a bearing or something rubbing. You can find out which wheel bearing is bad just by jacking up the car and spinning the wheel by hand,You just put it in neutral and spin it.
or here is a "funner" way to do it but it...
My V8 has no dipstick for the ATF. I found a hole in the back of the transmission where I guess you fill ATF. Is this correct and should it fill until it starts dripping out?
Thanks
Finished changing out mine. Bought a two row spectra radiator for $139. Perfect fit, did not need to remove fan, but had to lift the condenser up about an inch to get radiator out of side rails. Had trouble with trans cooler fittings. Ended up using old ones. Do not remove both at same time as...
I am replacing my radiator soon and changing coolant. What is the best way to get the existing coolant out of the block?
I was thinking about using the prestone flush and fill kit. I am not sure about cutting a perfectly good heater hose though. Not sure which is the inlet hose either, I...
Thanks for the advice, guess I have to bite the bullet. Not sure how easy it is to replace. Looks like you have to use special tools to remove the fan, the transmission fluid connector may leak and it looks difficult to lift up past the AC line above it. Hope their is something on you tube on...
I have a slow drip of coolant on the driver side next to the drain plug. Looks like it coming through out of the hard plastic mount on the bottom. Hoses look good, took off the front cover but could not see any hose holes or residue.
Can the radiator have a hole already? Is this a common...
Just changed my 2007 and they had the one piece motorcraft plugs in them and I had no issues except that they were 9/16 heads and 2 plug heads stripped. May have been over torqued when first put in. Ended up buying a bolt grip fastener to get one out.
I recommend the champion plugs as they...
