    09 K&N Intake Kit

Thanks fellas.. I thought the gen2 V8 was the same 4.6L setup from 06-10, but oddly the K&N site doesn't include 09 & 10. On a side note, with Ford likely bringing back the Ranger to the states, the mock-ups I've seen oddly look much like the Trac...

    09 K&N Intake Kit

I haven't been on the site since around the time I bought my gen2 V8 trac back in 2009. Glad to see everything's still on the up and up. I'm at 90,000 miles now and going strong - thought I'd spruce her up a bit with a Magnaflow, an intake kit, & some aftermarket rims. I'm sure this topic has...

    intake system

quick question. I own an 09 gen2 4.6L. Do the K&N intake systems manufactured for the Explorer also fit the Sport Trac? I imagine the engine's are identical, just want to be sure. Thanks.

    CARB Exempt?

HI all Im looking to purchase a K&N air charger for my 09 ST. It seems the only difference between the p/n's 57-2573 and 63-2573 is that the 57 series is CARB exempt, making it usuable under California's strict emission laws along with a couple other east coast states that follow the same...

    Maintaing your ST and garage

Not sure if this is common knowledge to everybody, but thought I'd share. There is a catalog/online shop by the name of Griot's Garage that sells everything you can think of to keep your vehicles and garage in perfect shape. I have been using their products for 10 years, and can't say enough...

    oil change

Bob -- I didnt get the lifetime changes as I had to fly to Pennsylvania to pick up the exact truck I wanted. Several dealers in my area were no help bringing what I wanted in, they were more focused on putting me in a 2010, so I did it myself. Theres much more to this story but I won't bore...

    oil change

Just a quick comment. I went to change the oil on my 09 ST for the first time this weekend. Not only is the filter in an unbelievably tight spot, I couldn't get the damn thing off! The guy on the line must have tightened it so hard his wrist broke. Tried a filter cap and everything, but it's...

    transmission slipping

downsouth, Same exact thing happened to me with my 2000 ranger early this year. I was slipping b/w 2-3 unless I floored it. I was at 115K miles. Was getting up to almost 3K rpm before it made the switch to third gear. I was told by a ford tech that the problem was the trans valve body and...

tonneau cover / bed extender install

Hi all Im purchasing a hard tonneau cover and bed extender through a private party, thus no installation instructions. I cant seem to find any pdf files explaining the installation or on this site for the gen2. I know it is fairly easy based on what I've read, but was wondering if anyone...

    air intake on an '09

Traintrac, don't know if you'll look back at this, but it seems the difference between the 57 & 63 is not that one supercedes the other but that the 57 is carb exempt and thus allowed for use in California.

    air intake on an '09

    air intake on an '09

Traintrac, The link you posted is for a fuel injection kit. The p/n for an air charger is 63-2573. What's strange is they post this kit for an '06 and '07 V8. Thought that was the cutoff b/w Gen1 and Gen2.
