    No Sport Tracs

I was walking out of Walmart in Antigo, Wisconsin and some woman stopped me to ask me what kind of truck I had. After I told her, she went on and on about how nice of a truck it was and how it was the perfect size, etc., etc. After she walked away, I watched to see what she was driving - a...

    Any discount parts sources?

I am helping out a woman I work with fix her car. She has a 2000 Mustang (3.8L 6) with a rusted out fuel filler pipe (part # 3R3Z-9034-AA). She has very little money, lives alone, and can't pay the $300+ needed to get this fixed. I am helping her out by doing the labor, but I was...

    Anyone ever try this trick?

That is how we used to always get ATV tubeless tires back on the bead (you don't want to know how we got them off the bead, lol). Extremely dangerous way to do it because too much ether, and the tire blows off. Awww, I long to go back to those days when I thought I was indesctructable......

    headrest monitor

I bought two monitors off Ebay without harnesses. I took them apart, determined the pin out, and soldered wires to them - essentially making my harnesses. They have been working in my Trac for years now.

    Cell Phones

I have to agree with Dingo. I had the Razor V3 for three years with zero problems. I have the razor V8 now and haven't had a single problem with it.

had to leave my new ride behind

Nice car. My best friend had an 88 GT and it was a fun car to cruise around in. They really packed that 6 cylinder into the back of that car, so working on anything was always frustrating. He drove it for years until someone ran into the side of it and it was going to cost more than the car...

    Permanent 4x4 vs AWD

I had a 97 AWD Mountaineer and I could never tell if roads were icy until I applied the brake. It make it a little dangerous in the winter. Now, I drive in 2WD until it slips, then switch on the 4WD.

Continuing Craftsman 18 HP riding mower issues

I'm mainly a John Deere repairman, but the engines are all basically the same. Check the clearance between the Flywheel/Stator and the inductor of the alternator. Many times the gap becomes too wide when the engine gets hot and the engine will stall. Once it cools, the gap is smaller and...

    Finally Back!

Thanks everyone. It's nice to hear that I am doing the right thing. I also need to send thanks to Todd for mailing me the goodies from the meet. It really cheered me up.

    Finally Back!

Finally got back home from helping out in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sucks because I was all packed up to go to Kentucky for the ST meeting and got the frantic call from family in Iowa. Spent alot of time wading through the nastiest water you can imagine - polluted with oil/fuel, sewage, and...

    ST for teenagers

My first car at 16 was a mustang. I learned on my mom's then got my own. (Psst, I'm not that old. lol) I would have been better off with a truck, especially when I put my mustang in a cornfield one time - but that's another story.

    limited slip?

Wonderful. One more choice. ;) At this point, I may just pick up a Aussie and call it a day. I like the idea of the actual LS that is stock, but I don't really want to pay the dealer to do it.

    limited slip?

Mr Rugby - What was the entire cost to purchase and have the dealer install LS?

    ST for teenagers

I taught our 16-year-old foster daughter how to drive with my ST. She loved it. Other than that brutal blind backing up with it, she didn't have a problem. Safer than a cheap smaller car, but you might check the insurance costs first. lol

They don't make things like they used to.

Just as a note, all electrical devices (lightbulbs included) will usually fail when turned on due to the electrical "surge" of current. Various bulbs have been marketed over the years that promise longer life by providing a thicker element, but people don't want to pay the cost when they can...
