Two unique questions on 01 Sport Trac

The dimmer is a resistor like part of the switch (it is a resistive strip that the contact runs across) and the last part of the dimmer (as you fell it kinda click) is a solid contact (two actual contact touching). So it is possible the resistive strip has broken, giving no contact to the switch...

    Skip

I would suspect this if it wasn't doing the same before the tune up, but the problem started before I did the tune up. I'm goign to keep digging in this for now. Thanks for the input! Denisb

    Starter

Every so often (once a week) I will turn the key and nothing happens. No click, turn, nothing. The second key turn will always work, and the ST hasn't left me starnded yet. Just wondering if this is a sign of things to come or if there might be a fix for this. This is an 04 4x4 with aprox 70K on...

    Skip

I have an 04 ST 4x4 that has developed a stutter/skip. This only seems noticeable when it snows, it is intermintant anywhere's frew 20-30 seconds to a few minutes. I was in need of a tune up when it started and figured this was the problem, but I have since done a tune up and am still seeing...

    Bolt Pattern template (5 BOLT)

I've just added a 5 bolt pattern template I found on-line in case someone ever is looking for one. I know our ST are 5 on 4.5, but this is great for people not sure what their other vehicles are.

    mud'n & camp'n

plus it will backfire a lot if you don't purchase the right blinker fluid...... Nice ride! That's what I want my ST to be when it grows up:driving:

    problem with ac

could be a compressor going bad. I've heard of people having to cut the belt on a dodge caravan to get back home when a compressor went bad.

    Air Bag flashing console lamp

Mine went bad a while ago and I beleive I got it at the stealership for about 60$. Mine was going flunky for a bit before it completely died and had no obvious damadge, but when it finally calfed there was an obvious crack right around the connector.

4th of July with our neibours

Must've felt cold up there in a snow storm. The wind is crazy up there. Cool picture (pardone the pun). This was my second time going up in a car (they have paved since my first climb). I was up there for the first time 20ish years ago in mid September. When we pulled in they told us we had...

4th of July with our neibours

Went to visit our friends to the South this July 4th long weekend and here's a few pics of our visit to Mount Washignton. [Broken External Image]: Too cool for the mountains. [Broken External Image]: [Broken External Image]: Family x 2 [Broken External Image]: The...

    BFGoodrich All-Terrains

I currently have 245/75/16 on mine and they do not rub at all. If you look the 31x10.5x15, they are aproximately 3/4" wider with pretty well the same diameter (245 d=30.47" w=9.76" compared to 31 d=30.51 and w= 10.55") I think it would be safe to say there would be minimal rub. I had rims...

    flashing OD problem

I would hope the dealer would have run a scan test on before this suggestion. Some codes are stored even if the OD light isn't flashing. If they didn't, I would start there. I had mine in after a similar episode and they still found a trouble code that turned up a bad solnoid. I wouldn't...

Transmission Slipping or Is it ?????

X2 what TJR says. In my opinion that would be like dropping your tranny in neutral flooring your vehicle and droping it in gear while driving down the highway.
