A Ford Escort XR3I which I rented while working in the UK. Was able to get it up to about 135 MPH on the M-11.

A friend of mine can say she was the first one in MN to get pulled over by a helicopter. She was driving back from St. Cloud to MPLS in a F-250w/ a 10' bed, it think they clocked her between 95-100 mph. It was the first day the State patrol was allowed to clock speeders w/ a helo. Lucky her...

This Ferrari F430 F1 is my brothers but I've driven it 166mph with plenty of room to spare.

[Broken External Image]:

I've had 02 Saleen Extreme Mustang around 150mph in a convertible top down and it you seriously couldn't hear anything for 24 hours afterwards.

[Broken External Image]:

I had the SVT Focus to 136mph. This is as fast as the motor will go.

An original 427 Cobra. The 427 was in a crate in the garage, it "only" had an all aluminum Jack Rousch 351 running somewhere in the 500-600 hp range. Ran real well!

In 1968 I drove a Fiat Dino with a Ferrari V12 engine just over 140 MPH on the German Autobahn...at about 2:00AM int he morning. Hardly a car on the road. When we stopped for gas and to chech the oil we found a sparkplug wire had come off the plug, and yet the car never missed a beat.

My 1965 GTO would run about 130 MPH which I did on a number of occasions.

Wrx 135 gone now traded it in on the Trac

87 Turbo coupe just over 150 modded before 4cyl turbos were that popular. Sold it to a kid after owning it for 13 years, car commited suicide, guess it couldnt be without me.:D[Broken External Image]:[Broken External Image]:

Last picture I have of it.

1999 took my '99 R1 to AR to do some back road riding. Going from point a to point b on Interstate 40 we actually wound it out. Speedo read 189. Corrected speed? 172. Only did this twice. At that speed EVERYTHING seems to go into slow motion. :D

I had a 1977 Chevy Monza with a 305 V-8 in it. I raced my friend who had a brand new 1986 Camaro Z-28. He was very pissed, since we went head to head for over a mile, until I slowed down so we could pass a semi-truck. Neither of our speedometers went over 120 mph and they were pegged. I figure it was around 130+. When you are young you do stupid things. I had really cheap tires on my car and some suspension problems. Had either given out I would be dead.

In Germany, I drove my Mazda 3 at 181 kph (I think it is around 110 mph). That car had an electronic limiter on it, but I know it could go much faster. It could do 170 kph in fourth gear. My Suzuki with a 1.3 L Turbo Diesel can do 160 kph, so the fact the Mazda 3 was so limited, is pathetic.

Non-certified speedometers are nortoriously inaccurate at high speeds but I had my first car, 1968 Firebird 350, up to an indicated 121 (this with bias-belted tires and four-wheel drum brakes  ) and back around 2001 my dad got a new BMW 740iL and let me drive it home from the dealer (mistake :D ) and I hit 115 on a fairly short straightaway before I had to slow down. Car had 12 miles on it at the time. Gotta break 'em in right I told dad.

Fastest accelerating car I've ever been in was back in the early 80's in college, a bud had a 1970 Buick Gran Sport Stage 1, automatic, which with five of us in it would break the tires loose from a 45 mph rolling start.

162 mph in my BMW 750i on the German Autobahn back in 1993 when I was living there. My normal commute to work speed was around 115 mph, sure makes 105 miles one way to work go by in a hurry.

'63 ford 406cu tripower, I ran next to a friends '69 dodge rt at 145mph, his speedo. '73 gremlin modified 304 V8 texas dps clock me on I-10@140mph. My '94 stang with a modded 302 cobra 142mph, my speedo. In 1969 riding in a friends modded plymouth GTX, Texas dps clocked us on I-45 @ 172mph. My '74 harley fxe 127mph. My trac almost 100mph before the limiter kicked in. My '88T-Bird with a modded 302, 125mph..

In the early 70's driving a 1969 GTO Judge I pegged the speedometer at 120 and estimated that I was going close to 130 (there were two other 69 GTO's with me driving the same speed) on a remote area of the 5 freeway north of Los Angeles.

In 2002 I got up to 115 in my 02 Firehawk on the way to Vegas and had to slow down as there was traffic up ahead and it was only a two lane highway. I still had plenty of top end left.

98 MPH

144 mph in a ZO6. could have gone much faster but i was worried about deer as it was night.

Couple years ago I was on a deserted stretch of road, late at night and got my 95 Eagle Talon to an indicated 170 mph. Scary fast.

Most powerful car I have driven was a 94 Dodge stealth twin turbo, it was pushing just over 400 hp. Went from 50mph to 110mph in about 4 seconds(approx.). Get told to slow down after that and didn't get to play, even though there was a 02 Vette following me.

P.S. have gotten my trac to about 110:)

I've had my '07 Trac up to 105ish, yikes. My '95 Mustang up to 120ish, that was enough for me. Back in my high school days I was once riding on my freinds crotch rocket and hit 145! I punched him when we finaly stopped.
