I posted some photos in my library of my small block getting worked & some of the add-ons I purchased. They start ripping out my 4.0 tomorrow & then the fabrication begins. After the motor & trans is installed we will trailer it 30 miles to the driveshaft specialist & have the driveshaft made. We found out that the motor is a Chevy "crate" motor also. Sorry if I repeat some of the info but in the last 2-3 days I've gotten the following items:

Edelbrock EPS Intake Manifold

Edelbrock 750 cfm carb

Melling Performance Cam/Lifters. Cam is 420/442 lift with 206 duration

Headers

Accell Cap/Rotor/wires

autolite sparkplugs

Hurst Ratchet shifter

Chrome oil pan

chrome valve covers & steel braided hose

double roller timing set

Castrol GTX/Bosch filter

My son informs me that the mechanic estimates total horsepower of possibly as high as 350-370 and even higher torque numbers :)

My 5.13s even with the 37s are gonna work great with this combo too. I've set the engine up for a whole lot of low-mid range power. It should be a lot of fun to drive.

A lot of top end on this truck would be useless (and deadly) Computer software (according to my son) estimates

0-60 times of 6.3 and a quarter mile in the low to mid 14s. We'll see what happens in the real world.

The swap is gonna be more then I had first estimated due to the new performance parts but should be worth it in the long run. more photos & info to come.

Stop making me want to spend more money on my ST!!!!!

Good luck, keep us informed, and take lots of pictures. :D

Cool! Hey Tonka, aren't you living in Tennesee now? Near Johnson city? Thanks for the update and keep the pictures coming!

Cool deal.... a 351 would have been nice... ;)

Most drive shaft shops do not need the truck to make a shaft, just the measurement from the rear flange to the trans tail shaft seal....

Are you using a used motor , or is that 350 in the pic getting a rebuild ???

And I would not recommend taking those 37's down the 1/4 mile, that just seems too unsafe to me... I know the tracks here would not let you go down with those tires...

Good luck on the conversion, Definitely one of a kind for now !!!!
