The earlier posting on the step bar brackets prompted me to consider replacing my step bars. Why, because they look terrible. I also own a Jeep Wrangler and frequently use Mother's Back-to Black to keep the black plastic parts looking like new. However, it seems to have little impact on the step bars and it's slippery.



The step bars on my '05 held up much better than those on my '07. Anyone had success reviving their step bars? If so, how'd you do it?
 
Check my library under trim. I stripped them down using a drill and sanding attachment. Then used zero rust black then clear, wet sanded and buffed, did the same on my rear bumper. for the plastic I used an adhesion promoter then SEM paint for plastic(alot of guys use Krylon too). Alot of work(not that hard) but I saved a couple of hundred clams. The key is good prep. Any questions don't hesitate...
