Rear Window

have an 01 sport trac, the back window quit working, I checked fuses and even replaced the switch with no luck, any ideas before bitting the bulit and taking to the dealer:

One of the little "nuances" of our tracs. I think there is a member project on the site

on how to replace it and/or where to get a replacement motor and how to reset it once

installation is completed.

You can try the re set procedure found in the owners manual...

I think you need a new motor though...

Do a search for rear window and llook at the one out there by me and there is a link in there that will help. Just becareful not to unwind the regulator or you will have to by a new one.

Where do I search ? Another thing I failed to mention, after it quit working I pushed the button and the window went down, but when I tried to put it up it didn't work at first then the window went up. It hasn't worked since.

Alot of the '01's needed to have the back window motor replaced because the electronics on it failed. There is a reset procedure to reset it but my guess is it needs replacing
