Fuel filter differences

Hello again everybody! I was looking at replacing my fuel filter on my 2005 ST Adrenalin 4x4. It has 95000 miles on it and I think it is about time. I looked at the projects and the one they had was for a 2002 ST. Anyhow was there a change in fuel filter setups between 2002 and 2005 because the one in projects show a inlet, outlet, and return line. When I looked mine up on autozone and advance auto they only show a inlet and outlet line. Any help appreciated.

There is a 3 connection and a 2 connection design.... Thats it..

My old '05 just had an inlet and an outlet. It used the funky connectors that you need the special tool for.
