bill,

i was not comparing my 21 year old vette to a current "purpose built" mustang.

what i said regarding a stock gt is that it would need a pretty big amount of upgrades to come close to a current gen vette.

a Z06 or better yet ZR1 will do a good job of putting the "purpose builts" in their place.

my 88 will also give a current stock gt a good lesson in handling.

kl,

as far as your comment regarding my vette being boring and something you see in trailer parks. it appears you have alot of experience with trailer parks so you must know a good vehicle when you see one.

well i guess other think the same, thats why it is a multiple show winner :)

appreciate your comments, but from someone with nothing you may wan't to think about what you say. ;)

btw, this is for you......

[Broken External Image]:

gary, your C4 is a great car, the last of its kind. one of the great cars of it's time.

The ZO 6 and ZR1 are the best of the best, if you have 80 grand plus to buy one, from a soon to be bankrupt company.

love your car, perhaps a classic that will actually one day be worth more than you paid for it.

Me on the other hand have a ford:(

I don't understand your point bill.

I believe if you drive your "present" vehicle 300,000+ miles it becomes gold to some!!!

Am I wrong???

Todd I cant imagine going 135 in the trac! and I never expected that little celica to get up that fast either. But it was a GT-S model which is basically the same engine that goes into the MR-2 and the Lotus. he had an exhaust and a fully race worthy suspension. Lightweight drivetrain. Took all the heavy stuff out of the cab. And neither of us are heavy. But man all three of you guys got the trac to 135, I NEED AN XCAL! i bet it took forever to get that fast.

Those donuts in garage are probably made witha motorcycle. I see a lot of people doing this in Poland. It seems to be a fad here. There are two of these on my street. It really isn't much of a challenge I think. I saw it done, and they just turn up the throttle while holding the front hand brake. The bike spins its wheels and it makes a perfect donut.

Now drifting is a different story. That takes a little bit of driving skill.

appreciate your comments, but from someone with nothing you may wan't to think about what you say.

Yep, when it comes to rides I have a trac and a decrepit 1992 LeSabre, and a bicycle. Some might call that nothing. I call it everything.Though technically that is something, and something ain't nothin', so where are you coming from?

In our new socialist times, it is up to you, the gentry, the cream of the crop, denizen of decadence, l'homme of ostentatious opulence to spread your massive wealth to those of us who have nothing, the poor paupers who pitifully pale to your wealth, who sit and plot perturbed at how pathetically they are powerless to procure what you so presumtiously proclaim.

...and screw the rest of them, I'm first in line for the Gary S. wealth handout.

(Though I'll still "have nothing", for "something given has no value, it must be earned")

Seriously, it has the embodiment of the trailer park in it, though admittedly the roof curvature does give it some distinction (forgot that part), but the rest of the body is in line.

I don't think ya'll understand Maryland--she is America in Miniature. So even though we are the richest state (per capita income), even though we are getting a huge influx of people due to military base relocation, even though we have the elite from DC, and heck, even technically DC itself within our borders (MD owns the whole Potomac...thank God DC is only within md geographically!).....even though we have all of this splendor and decadence, one can drive 30 minutes from DC and be in the boonies where hearing Dueling Banjos wound NOT be a surprise.

In the 30 longitudinal miles of my county, one starts at the ghettos, goes to the suburbs, reaches middle class areas, trailer parks, then opulence...then semi-rural areas for the rich yuppies for whom I have choice words, and then you reach real rural areas. Pastoral if you will.

So yes, we have trailer parks a plenty. Some within walking distance of mansions.

Let's test this. Fly to BWI. Get yo' walkin shoes on, and you can walk to a trailer park...several....and then you can walk to a gentrified office area and ever-growing acclaimed mall with the most visited theatre in North America....and then in a mile you will be in an area that challenges the inner city for seediness. Drive, and you can do all of this in 10 minutes.

Oh, and all of this is within 5 miles of BWI, and thus perhaps 30 from the merry land of DC.

For the record, I did not insinuate or state that your car looked bad or demeaning to your character, and I still do not, but now you're denigratin' me and my state, and we can't stand for that ;)

KL,

Unless you have a Corvette or nice shiney cars that are new while you scream "my cars are very reliable", you ain't got squat.

You drive older cars. The reason you drive them? Because they are reliable. Something Gary just hasn't quite got the true grasp on that tricky word, "reliable".

I would be interested in seeing him drive a car 300,000 miles. I would be interested in seeing him have so much faith in a car that he would buy one with 200,000 miles, check it over, and then drive it to Florida. I would do it with my 354,000 miles Escort.

He did fly to Florida and didn't drive his new 4Runner there. While I assume the reason is because he wanted to spend more time down there having fun vs. driving, but he might have also had a break down on the 4Runner and wont admit it. The Matrix would not have made it, the Corvette has no room, and his wifes 350Z is too unsafe.

I would have driven my wifes Explorer with 177,000 miles and just headed on down. The Escort, while would get 32+ MPG, the Explorer has more room. I would also take my Trac, but I will put the miles on the higher mileage car since that car saves me money.

Go ahead, be proud and keep driving your LeSabre. I am sure the car is perfect for your aplication.

Tom

Gary,

I bet I could go out with my Escort and get trophy's. People sell them all the time at pawn shops. ;)

Tom

p.s. There is no doubt that they were awarded to the car. When you are the only entry in that class, it is hard not to win.

BWAHAHAHA !!! I have said that to him for years !!!... LOL

IT is sooo funny how people with vehicles win trophies and you ask what show it was and it was some 4 car show in a parking lot with a $50.00 entry fee and you "win" a trophy...

Not saying this is garys case because some of the LI shows are huge, But I always wondered about things like this... HAHAHAH

kl,

blah , blah , blah. you make a comment that the c-4 corvette is something you see in a trailer park. it is very obvious, as in the past, it was a shot at me since you used my name and referred to my car. then you have another failed attempt to say it was not directed at me.

nice try.

that is ok, since i know what i have achieved in life and it is very evident as with tom, you are miles behind ;)

tom,

yes i did not drive to fla because my vehicles are unreliable:rolleyes:

as far as corvette shows and winning first place, you are correct i am the only entry. geez i guess the other 75 plus vettes must have been my imagination. (not to mention i am asked to have it "top flight" certified)

oh yea, you are correct, your escort can win a show and get a trophy. that would be for the nicest convertAble

it is very obvious that you, kl, todd & less have an issue with the fact that you all have nothing much to speak about. that's ok, but it is killing you guy's inside
