Had it pressure tested last night. Saw coolant oozing from behind thermostat area under the intake plenum. What needs coolant under the intake?? Common issue? expensive to fix?

The thermostat housing has caked coolant but no leak, I will prob replace all that as well.

I bet its just the T-stat housing.... Common problem....

Todd, it looks like its further back from that. There is a hose behind there (I have no clue where it goes) where I saw seepage while under pressure. I cant take a pic cause I am toolless at work to take off the cover to get at it. Is there a good engine diagram somewhere I could look at?

There is a coolant line that heats the Throttle body in cold winter...

ITs a small hose....The TOP and bottom in this picture,...

I just took my truck in for the same problem. I have an extended warrenty. They said it was not the thermostat housing but the intake manifold. I later called them back to check on the truck and they said I was right it was the thermostat housing. Of course they had to order the part.

The Gen 1 lower thermostat housing seems to have a very high failure rate.

Same applies to the PCV elbow and lower ball joints. Could be a lot worse.
