Well this is not a problem with my Trac, but with my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8. Yesterday I was driving her home and I came to a stop. When the green light hit, I pushed on the gas and to my surprise, nothing happened. I started rolling because I took my foot off the brake & my engine reved up nicely, but there was no motion besides the rolling. I hit the gas again and it starts to chug quite a bit. I stopped for a couple of minutes and made it all the way home with more of the chugging and transmission disengaging....mind you my house was only 2 miles from where it initially messed up....so the Jeep was not happy what so ever. At this point I am thinking great this farely brand new truck is broken, thank god for extended warranties. I am having her towed in (flat bed) tomorrow morning to be diagnosed and fixed. I have a feeling the transmission is tore up, more then likely from the previous owner (bought it used....NEVER AGAIN). This Jeep only has 16k miles on her, so nothing should be wrong like that, but who knows.

So to make my long crapy story nice, I am going to trade the SRT-8 in (once fixed) for a nice shiney Harley Truck.....WOOT!!!

Sorry to hear, It seems to be the thing now a days.....

And congrats on the Harley...

LOL, yeah that seems to be the issue, they won't engage. I am actually not too upset about it after looking at one the the Saleen Harley Davidson F-150's. I was considerably upset yesterday, considering I have only had the thing for 8 months, but after looking into that Saleen HD, I am just anxious now.

personally i would get a dodge charger srt-8 superbee aka 'police magnet' but try not to rip up your new harley davidson doing stunts like this

Bootsy this probably isnt the best time to be asking you this but what did you think of the truck before the problem. I have been kind of interested in one but I dont know anyone to ask about them.. Is the performance everything they have been saying it is??? Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Peter

Don't be surprised, it's a Jeep (I can say that, I own a Jeep). They are blast, but they are what they are. Jeep products are fun but they are not very reliable or well built!

A Sport Trac can do that !!!!

pnoid72, aside from the problem I love the Jeep. But like I said I bought it used, so there are more things here and there that I am not happy about, but it is SCARY fast.

R.T., I have been in Jeep's my whole life. My mom has not owned anything in my whole 28 yrs on this world, besides a Jeep. She had one with and issue, and that is not bad out of 10 or so Jeep's. BUT this is no regular Jeep either....just a sports car in a Jeep body.

Todd Z, how can I make my ST do that? :)

Amber is your ST 2wd or 4wd ??? And if you have the traction control and a 4wd you need to physically disconnect the 4wd under the truck, and then hold the traction control button to shut off the traction control...

It is easy on the Gen 1..
