B-Pillar Rust

On the back end of the front drivers' side B-pillar, on the inner edge which touches the "B-pillar" on the rear drivers' side passenger door, there are a few small places where the black paint has gone and rust has set in. What's the best way to fix this?

If it is just surface rust. I would use a nick sander and regular touch-up paint.
