2001 Oil Filter Question

An E.F. member has posted as to the correct oil filter for his 2001 model because all of the filter look-up list standard & metric thread. I, of course, told him to post the number on his current filter but I'm wondering why I've never seen this question asked before. I feel certain it's a Job 1/Job 2 thing because the 2000 Explorer 4.0L SOHC uses the FL1A and the 2002 Sport Trac 4.0L SOHC uses the FL820.



What are you 2001 owners using in relation to Job 1 or Job 2 models?

Steve, I think the FL1A, was on the the '01 job 1 only.

After that '01 job2 it was the FL820s

The Job1 filter is distinctive because it is huge, somewhere between the size of a pint and a quart. It's probably the largest thing you'll see on the oil-filter shelf at the autoparts store. And it has a standard thread.

Yep, 01, Job 2 and mine uses the 820S
