OK, so last spring I pulled the engine to replace the oil pump (locked up/broken drive shaft) and while out replaced the timing chains and tensioners/guides. I'm approaching 140,000 miles? reading throug the forums last night that the transmission may have a problem with a faulty valve...

OK, Bring me up to speed. I have an '02 Trac. Body mounts needs to be replaced? I have a few squeeks and rattles, and some road vibration. Should I be looking into Body mounts?

I had the squeek over a bump issue last year. Crawl under it and look at the rear spring shackles. MINE WERE ALMOST TOTALLY GONE! They RUST out, allowing the rear leaf spring shackle to slide up and down, causing the squeek. I think they are like $20, but squeek like mad.

$4000 to Remove engine and fix broken studs? Is he rebuilding the engine while he has it out? (Granted, if it's a 4.0L you should probably do the timing chains while it's out, but $4K to fix an exhaust leak??) wow... I don't know about the 4.6.. but wow...

Same here. I had to pull my '02 4.0 L out because of a locked up oil pump and snapped oil pump drive shaft. I inititally was just going to replace the pump and shaft, but a friend chided me when he said "You're going to pull the engine and NOT replace the timing chains?!" He was right...

I have the EXACT same problem!

Just had mine replaced this last weekend. MAN they were rusty! Same as yours. Drivers side barely holding on , and a suspension squeek that would wake dead people. Had a NASTY vibration on the highway, this seemed to help.

Engine back in with new oil pump, new timing chains and guides... purrs like a kitten :-)

Well, pulled the engine, replaced the locked up oil pump, and oil pump drive shaft. While we were there, we R&R'd all the timing chains, and guides. Putting the engine back in tomorrow (and probably keep working on it through the weekend...) Keep your fingers crossed!
