    Loctite on Break Caliper Bolts

Here is what I did, removed the two bolts holding the caliper in place, removed the pads, removed the sliders pins greased them and put on new rubber boots, then installed the new pads. Then compressed the caliper piston, put the caliper back in place and tightened the two bolts to 24ft/lbs...

    Loctite on Break Caliper Bolts

To clarify, I am talking about the two small bolts I removed to lift the caliper bracket off the rotor to just replace the pads. They should be torque to 85ft/lbs and use blue loctite?

Engine wants to stall when put into Drive

Fuel filter, plugs were replaced at 98,000. Battery and air filter replaced at 124,000. Plug wires look in great shape. If the PVC is the pipe going from the air intake tube around the back of the engine it was replaced at 100,000. That pipe had cracked and was replaced by a shop, is that...

Engine wants to stall when put into Drive

I have a 2003 Sport trac with 148,000 miles. When the engine is cold and I start it, it idles slightly rough. Then when I put it into drive the rpms drop to almost nothing for a second and almost stalls, then it picks back up and idles at 900rpm. When the engine is warm there is no problem...

I checked the fan blade with the engine cold. It moves freely with just a little resistance. The blades all have cracks so I am replacing it. I wonder what else could cause the noise? The noise is not always there. Thanks again for the help Greg

When I start my Sport trac I do not have any noises, but as soon as I put it in gear I hear a rattle. It appears to be coming from the Alternator. Can an alternator make a rattle noise when it is going bad. It is still charging fine Thanks Greg

I change my oil every 5,000 miles and I have been using Castrol GTX High Mileage 5W-30 ever since the Sport trac hit 75,000 miles. During the last two oil changes (last one at 121,000 miles) after I change the oil and start the vehicle I get a grinding noise or metal on metal noise for about 3...

    Correctly Installed Parking Brake Spring

Got it, change spring to other cable. Also is there suppose to be a clip with spring that gives the spring a bend like in the Fordparts.com com picture or does it go straight from the cable to the hole the spring goes into. Almost looks like there is a clip in the Fordparts.com picture to give...

    Correctly Installed Parking Brake Spring

Had to replace a missing parking brake spring on the driver side rear brakes. The old one was missing and Fordparts.com diagram looks slightly different. You will notice in the picture the other brake line now is up against a frame bracket about 2" from the plastic piece with no protection...

There is a broken spring about five inches long that's dangling inside my driver side rear wheel well. The top of the spring is attached to the inner plastic wheel well. It is above the parking brake cables. Would someone let me know what this is for and where the bottom of the replacement...
