Thanks for the update so far. I should probably drain the fluid since I used power steering fluid instead of Mercon. Whaddya think everyone?
I mixed the original with Power Steering fluid, is that OK?
Any idea how to drain, or where?
I just changed my AC Compressor, all went well. Had to move my Power Steering Resevoir to get at the compressor.
Finished the job to find out that the Power Steering has a significant shudder to it now.
I used regular power steering fluid. Is that OK. could it be my problem...
Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback. I'll see if it needs cleaned. The belt n tensioner look fine.
I think if I catch it early enough before the Compressor goes, i can get by without replacing the orifice tube and evaporator. Just not letting the system be open to long when i place...
My AC Comprssor is starting to grind. (sounds like that at least) Should I replace it before it contaminates the system? Sounds like its the clutch but I'll just replace the whole compressor while I'm at it.
Put my ac on the other day smelled some burning from the car(my car I think) but...
I have an 2003 ST with 58,000 miles on it.
The brakes have recently been pulsating alot, with lots of feedback in the brake peddle and steering wheel. Is it time to change my rotors? Most likely the front first?
I imagine around 50k and this will happen. Also does anyone actually torque...
Anybody ever have to replace the gears in their differential. (ring & pinion)
I see on Explorer Forums there is "the Whine" comes from the gears going bad in the differential. I have a 2003 Sport Trac.
Wondering if it could be a wheel bearing(hoping!!!)
Thank in advance
My 2003 - 2 wheel drive Trac makes a Whine as soon as it hits 36 mph.
Only in the 36-40mph range. Cant tell where its coming from.
Sounds maybe like a wheel bearing but I imagine a bearing would do it all the time, and not just between that 36-40 range. It might be wind noise at that...
I understand they are slid in but there is either a normal wrench fitting around the lines or some type of compression fitting? Is that a compression fitting or a spring disconnect?

here is a link to a kit for 234 that should replace everything crucial.
I want to take apart my orifice and see if its clogged first
I'm looking for my orifice tube to see if its blocked.
I'm thinking its in the line between the Condenser and evaporator, before it even goes into the accumultor/drier.
Can anyone verify that? I think its a pressure fitting? Is this correct. There is a black plastic connector and a...
Thanks for the feedback.
I know the low pressure side drops when the compressor kicks on.
Is the low pressure switch the same as the cycling switch.
Thanks in advance
My air conditioner is now blowing hot air. The compressor cycles on and off every 5 seconds. Anyone else have this going on? I checked the pressure and it was was to high, so I lowered it and it still happens. I ordered a new cycling switch for it and will try that first. Then I will look...
