Replaced the "teapot" spout with a 2.50" pipe and 2.75" inside rolled tip, out the rear.

Inside of the tip is not completely rolled over and has a sharp edge.

Happens when accelerating under a load, never in neutral.

Only engine mods are a throttle body, drop in filter, and air silencer removed.

Belts, alternator, hoses, etc., all seem OK. Stock resonator is still installed.

Never heard this until I changed the exhaust pipe and tip, almost a "supercharged" sound.

Please no "whistling exhaust tip" or "happy whistle" jokes, heard one too many. Thanks. :banghead:

EDIT- Almost a year later the culprit was caused by my OEM serpentine belt.

Replaced it with the half inch shorter Gates K060860 and the "whistle" is gone

Steve, Is this a clamped tip, with slits. If so the half roll on the tip. Might be causeing backpressure thru the slits.

Eddie- Made by Tennessee Tips chrome plated.

Welded, no slits. Looking at the Magnaflow on line.

Will a 90 degree inside rolled edge help? Thanks Bro.

If you find one from magnaflo you like. Price it elsewhere. I have seen magnaflo charge double for the same tip.

10-4 :supercool: (Around $30 shipped from several vendors)

After driving the truck, Look under it at the converters.... Make sure you did not cook a converter and it is slowly clogging..

Can also put duck tape in the tip when cold and drive the truck quick to see if the sound goes away

I think you could be on to something with the rolled tip. Father-in-law had the same issue for a few weeks on his truck until he swapped out tips. It was a huge a SWOOOOOOOSHING-HISS only under hard acceleration.
