Which is the water temperature sensor?

My Temp gauge goes to the mid point between cold and hot as soon as I start the truck. I am going to replace the sensor, but not sure which one to replace.



When I stand in from of the engine I see two sensors behind the thermostate housing, to the left is one with an orange electical connector, next to it just to the right is a sensor with a gray connector.



Which one do I replace?

I don't know, but you can simply unplug them 1 at a time and see what happens when you start the truck..

Replace both they are real cheap. Also replace the entire thermostat housing. Your ST is old enough, like mine, and the plastic WILL fail.
