What size bolt would fit in that threaded hole?

Does Ford dealership sell one for cheap?

I picked up a 2001 F150 supercrew cab Extender (yes, it fits) but the brackets are different and I have an idea of how to fab something up for it but I need to know the measurement of that bolt for the middle hole.

Mine's a 2nd gen Sport Trac

You need the special Extender mounting bolt...... about $15.00 from the dealer ONLY ... OR our FORD OEM sponsor..

I know I saw a part number somewhere around here for the locking pins but not sure if it works for aftermarket cages?

Any help would be appreciated!

IS the extender you have an OEM extender ??? do you have a pic of the mounting clip o the extender ??

I don't think it was OEM Extender....I think the guy that I bought it off from was a aftermarket extender...

This is the bracket that I received with the Extender that I bought off CL...(this is not my pic but the bracket is just the exact one)

What I was thinking was fabbing up a plate to mount the bracket onto, but I needed the measurement of the threaded bolt so I can use it to insert it through the plate that the brackets will be mounted to....without having to drill anything on the truck....

Kinda make sense? lol if I confused you all, let me know...

I got it.... The threads are metric and probably 1.0 or 1.25 pitch, good old special auto pitch....

The bolt is probably a m12 or so...

The hole on the truck from the factory on the gen 1 is not threaded, ON the gen 2 I see yours is...

Find a good hardware store and try the bolts..

Thanks!

I will try those bolts you listed above!

Let's hope my idea works! Not really liking the idea of drilling anything to my new truck, haha.

However to you all, I am still looking for any 2nd gen Extenders though in case this one fails.

Well, I was able to fab up a bracket for the Extender bracket....will have pics later....now that I'm done with that part....the fun part is going to Ace Hardware and getting like 4-5 bolts at the same time and run back out and check to see which fits...(of course, with Mgt's permission, that is ;) haha).

Hopefully this will go well like I think it should and it shouldn't require any drilling into the truck cuz I'm not ready to put any holes in her!

Sorry for the late response, but here's the stock one for reference.

Well, I must say that this project with my custom made brackets was a success!

I have now a aftermarket Extender from 2001 F-150 SuperCrew in my ST and I didn't have to drill any holes in the truck for the brackets!

Pretty proud of myself....

I can do a write up on how to if you guys want me to do that. Just let me know...
