Check in the projects section, Exterior Appearance - Painting the Cladding. Tom R didn't use any sandpaper.

if using Body shop paint, you DO NOT need to sand at all......
IF using spray paint, you will NOT remove the texture with the paint and sanding will ruin the cladding..
