Idk the cops took me to the hospitial, so im not sure till tomrrow when i go look at the truck, it was the f-250s fault, so do you all reckon itll be totaled

I had the same thing happen to me 2 years ago, but i was in the family van. Total front end damage, my adjuster came "under" by $100.00 of totalling the van. Which means they were going to fix the van with all the front end damage. I live in Florida, so we have a "no Fault" law. I refused the assesment and had a new adjuster look at it an he "fixed" my problem and put down "total loss" on the claim form. You do not want them to fix your truck if there is that much front end damage, hard to sell, will never drive right again, and so on.

The other driver at fault, only had $10,000 in coverage, all that is needed in Florida. I was out of work for 4 months and had surgery on my shoulder. I only had $25,000 in with my carrier for uninsured driver, so most of all my medical/car exspenses came from my policy. $25,000 was not nearly enough to cover my losses.

If you live in a state like mine, do what I did and up your un-issured/underinsurred driver coverage to at least $100,000 because you are insuring yourself against other maniacs out there.

Glad your OK, and hope things turn out good for you. Beleive me it is a stressful thing to go through a total accident scene with or without injuries.

Glad no one got seriously hurt. Sucks about the trac.

Good luck fighting with the insurance company. Been there, Done that.

One time it was a breeze, They fixed me right up, and let me choose where to get the work done, Another time, they were pushy for me to go to this repair shop that was basically owned by the insurance co.

Never been when my vehicle was totaled though, so I'm sure it will not be fun.

Hope all goes well.

Being that it is a 2001, I would venture to say it will be totaled. If it were a 2005, possibly salvageable, but a 2001, doubtful.

Yeah i know there was a little kia spectra but the other 2 cars just drove strait off and didnt do anything to them really but my air bags didnt even deploy, Where are the airbag sensors on the 01 sport trac

:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::huh::huh::huh::huh:

Brandon be thank full they did not deploy then it is a 100% total.....

This way there is a chance of it being repaired...

The sensors are in the door pillars, and inside the front and rear of the truck...

Since the truck was not Crushed in a side impact or head on or rearend, they did not go off...

i hope he has insurance

It looks like Brandon hit the F-250. For it to be the F-250s fault, Brandon would need to be driving the posted speed limit and the cops would need to cite the F-250 for making an illegal turn. Of course, I am no expert, but this is how I have always understood it. Whoever hits the other car is at fault, all things being equal.

Brandon said the truck made a Left in front of him, The person making the left is at fault here IN NY, don't know what it is else ware..

Todd Z

Here in Florida, I'm pretty sure it's the person who's entering/crossing the normal flow of traffic who's at fault. Since the F-250 was turning left across the lane Brandon was in, it would fall in his lap.

Same here in Texas. You turn in front of someone with out having the right of way, it is failure to yeild, to oncoming traffic.
