They will soon be hatching, or might of depending on chirps from babies or other birds in the area. Gives the kids something to watch for~

Its in Decorah Iowa.

the first, sometimes I have to search and start to type eagles, and it pops up Decorah Eagles. I wouldnt of guessed we would see a rabbit in the nest~

Raised about 70 of them from fledgling to flight around 1985 in Mississippi as part of a reintroduction project. Had little puppet eagles to feed them with. Neat birds.

DGIF biologists have decided that it is in the best interest of the eaglets to remove them from the nest and relocate them to the Wildlife Center of Virginia. The removal operation will take place at 10 a.m.

That sucks she was hit by a plane. In that case, I agree, remove the eaglets and get them back to the wild when they can do so..

To be clear--the one which was struck by a plane is the one from Norfolk, VA.

To my knowledge, the eagles in Decorah, IA, from this thread's original post, are still just fine.
