haha, yeah, that's always a plus. I bet the Challenger could be a HUGE seller if they can keep the price as low as the Charger and make it come standard with AT LEAST 425 horsepower. The Challenger is a lot better looking car than the Charger in my opinion.

Good luck catching the GTO, dodge! haha

425 HP? You must be high. Dodge'll water it down, throw a V6 in it, a smaller V8, and the 'HEMI', like they do for the Charger. Although I do hear that the SRT-8 Charger is quite quick.

I'll be the first in line to buy a new-age 'Cuda though. Plum Crazy with a 'HEMI' please.

Depending on who's doing the review, the SRT-8 is either slightly faster or slightly slower than the GTO. Based on weight and horsepower, the GTO should be faster, but by a very small amount, maybe 0.1-0.3 seconds 0-60. I'm just not fond of the styling of the "standard" or "daytona r/t" chargers, I do, however like the SRT-8. I stopped and looked at a standard Charger before I bought the GTO, the styling is just so "bleh". The SRT-8 looks pretty cool though, with its larger wheels and more aggressive-looking hood. Still not as good as a GTO, but far better than anything else dodge makes.

The SRT-8 does have 425 horsepower though. I'd just like to see even MORE horsepower in the Challenger to go along with the impressive look. It LOOKS like a muscle car. The GTO is fast, but it doesn't look like a traditional muscle car. It's a sleeper, and I like those. The SRT-8 engine in the challenger, if they can shed about 400-500 pounds from the charger's weight (nearly 4000 pounds), then it might be pretty damn quick, and easily worth buying if it's priced the same as the charger. I am still drooling over that pic.

Well, the black Charger is a Phtoshop, and really not a good one.

Hower, this:

is the Challenger Dodge will most likely release.

It simply MUST have over 400 horsepower if it's going to weigh over 3500 pounds (and daimler-chrysler cannot make a vehicle that weighs less than 3500 pounds these days).

Scott,

Just remember that SCT is releasing the GM software in about 4 months. And yes, the GTO is on the list of available tuning platforms :-D

I'm kind of hesitant to go with SCT again since I have a GM vehicle. It's not that I don't like SCT, I think they're a great company, but Ford just isn't the same as GM and I think it'll take SCT quite a while to get the "bugs" out. I think my beta testing days are over. ;)

Fortunately, I am a semi-fast learner.

That's fine, as long as they put a larger engine in it than a Dakota. That car will be almost completely useless without a L O T of horsepower. I don't think it'll outrun the goat either way, but that's beside the point. ;)

We're SOOOO close to 200 posts! I don't think we're gonna make it though.

I'll admit, the styling is a bit odd for a muscle car, but once you drive it, you fall in love. I had read reviews that they were pretty quick, but it's difficult to understand HOW quick until you drive it.

It's "smoke the tires, scare the cat, arrest me officer...IF you can catch me, thunderously loud, raw, shake the ground FAST". My dad has a 67 Mustang Fastback with a very well-built 302 in it...it's kinda like that, only even MORE muscular. It's very difficult to explain. I can guarantee it's nothing like any Grand Am I'VE ever seen/heard. ;)

In case anyone is wondering, the supercharged trac is still sitting over at the dealership I traded it to. I am a bit surprised that nobody has bought it. I saw it sitting there yesterday. It looks really good, all cleaned up and stuff. I kept it relatively clean, but the thing is SPOTLESS now.

I do still have those parts that I'd be willing to give to anyone who wants to pay shipping for 'em. It's all the stuff that came off of the trac when it got supercharged. It wouldn't be any good to someone who was looking for extra performance, but it would make good replacement pieces if something happened to break on your trac. I'm not entirely sure what all is there.

If you live within a couple hundred miles, I'd be willing to meet you halfway with the stuff, to save on shipping charges. If nobody wants it, it'll probably end up in the trash in a couple of weeks. I do know that the airbox is there. If somebody wanted to "design" a better airbox, or if theirs is broken, this would make a good replacement.

The GTO is still doing well. I've already put nearly 2000 miles on it! I really hate getting out of it, I'd rather just keep on driving. I'm really looking forward to someone getting an adrenaline so that we can race. I bet they'd get a pretty decent jump on me, since the goat and traction aren't exactly on speaking terms most of the time. That all wheel drive of the adrenaline probably makes it a monster at takeoff, especially with all 390 horses stampeeding under the hood.
