Turn off Beep

I am a new owner of the Sport Trac. How do I turn off the beep the truck makes when I lock/unlock the door with the fob?

Is this when you hit the fob twice? I hit mine once and it does not beep the horn. I have asked before about this a long time ago and I believe it can not be done.

Mine does not beep when I unlock using the fob. And it doesn't beep when locking unless I push the lock button twice.



I'm thinking this is related to the type of alarm you have.

I have the factory fob. It only honks the horn, on a double push of lock. Non on unlock. I usualy push twice on the fob so I hear it, and know it locked.

Larry, it would be helpful if you finish the profile on your trac.

That way when you have tech questions we know what year, etc..

It could be a used trac that had an aftermarket alarm installed....



IF its a viper, Just hit the AUX button first then lock/unlock it silences it

Thanks for the replies. The ST is a 2002 with 4.0 engine.



I only hit the fob once and it beeps. I will try your suggestions. Thanks.

Directions are in the manual if I recall correctly. Funny combination using key, headlights, etc. Same thing for seatbelt warning.
