Is there a way that you could get more trany oil out of the trany when you do a pan drop/filter change?

Would running the engine with the pan off let more oil out or just jurt the transmition?

Don't want the blinking OD light of death

thanks for any help

Put a plug in and change a panful every time you change the oil. It keeps the fluid fresher and will eventually get almost all of the old fluid out.

Don't run the engine without the pan on the transmission (or the engine!)!

edit: Oh yeah, don't forget to change the filter out at least ONCE in a while! :)Keep the normal filter change intervals.

DO NOT run the engine with the pan off.....

The drain plug is the best idea, OR change the filter and then have a shop do a flush...

Might as well do the EPC adjustment while your in there..

You could probably run it for a minute, but transmission oil is pretty thin, and won't hold up without fresh fluid coming along. The bearing, bushings, and thrust washers would all be dry quickly, and then the carnage begins!

Go ahead and try it and let us know how much damage it really does!
