Strange soot like coating inside cab

Recently I have noticed what looks like soot, for lack of better term, on the dash of my 63,000 mile 2004 ST.



Anybody have same thing or know what it could be?

I agree with Mike - CT, if I don't keep up on the cleaning it get's bad in my Trac too.

Once a week, clean everything with a good interior cleaner and finish with a vinyl and rubber dressing. NO, I don't mean Amour-All. Keep on top of it and it will make a difference at resale time! Bob

Do you leave your windows open or cracked..... use armorall on the dash ?? Leave the truck on the dash setting or fresh air ??
