squeek when driving

When I driving my 2004 st there is a squeek when driving but stop when I hit the brakes. But is sometime when I hit the brakes if i hit the brakes lite it will squeek. :angry:

My wife's Elantra had that noise. It turned out to be a 2 fold issue. The squeek when I hit the brakes was the rear brake hardware. I used brake lubricant from autozone on the drum springs. Problem solved.

The squeek when I drove was a disc shim had somehow shifted. The holes that fit it to the disc pad backs were ovaled out. I replaced the shims & all is now well. It could also be that you need ne front disc pads. There are wear indicators that scrape on the rotor to LYK you are overdue.
