Never installed one on my vehicle but I just orded a 2 Million Candle Power rechargeable hand held spotlight that should arrive today. I won it on an online auction for $20.67 which included shipping! I prefer a hand held model for maximum versatility. Figured it would come in real handy if I ever had a flat (or any kind of vehicle trouble) on the side of a dark road. Plus it recharges from either your home or auto.
Advance Auto carries a 17.5million candlepower rechargeable light. It's basically a 9007 bulb and a 12v battery, and yes, it has a high and low beam, lol. They're only like $35, and about the size of a football.
This was an old thread I found while doing a search. I am interested in putting a driver's side spotlight on my 2005 Trac. Has anyone done this, or work for an agency that has them mounted. I can't tell if an A pillar or door mount is best, or if I will lose my driver side grab handle if I pillar mount one. Camping season is approaching and there have been many times where a spotlight would have been handy in the past.
