Speaker size probably stupid question

Ok I have an 05 sport trac and I have a pair of pioneer 6x9 speakers and yes I know the stock size is 6x8 I was just wondering if anyone had tried 6x9 speakers and had got them in without any modification or had an idea on what modification would be necesary thanks in advance btw I am new here

I think only 5x7 or 6x8's fit in there. I used some 5x7's in my '01 trac back in 2001 and moved them into my '07 and am still using them today. Check Crutchfield.com for a fitment guide. It will tell you what will fit.
