A few people asked for pictures when i did my SAO conversion. So here are some pics and explanations.

First step clean up the area where the new perch will be welded. I used a flap disk.

[Broken External Image]:

Set the new perch in place. I got the extra large perches to eliminate axle wrap, they are about 8" long, and real beefy..

[Broken External Image]:

Next step is to place a jack under the pinion shaft and get the stock perches at zero degress.

[Broken External Image]:

Then you place the degree finder on the new perches and get them to zero degrees.

[Broken External Image]:

Then it is time for the fun stuff WELDING!! Burn them new perches onto the axle.

[Broken External Image]:

After this paint them and reinstall the leafs. And you just gained about 5-6" of lift, that will flex great and is very cheap.

Think maybe you could resize those pictures a little so we can see what we are looking at without all the scrolling? Thanks.

Chad, I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to see some pictures of you whole truck since you made all your changes. I'd like to see the new stance as well as the new wheels and tires.

I dont have my pics downloaded yet but here is a couple threads from our Explorer Forum Meet last week in Moab, UT and Ouray, CO
