Shift indicator light

Have a 37 Ford Coupe that does not have a illuminated shift indicator for the auto transmission .It is on the column and difficult to select the proper gear at night. Looking for a light source that I could adapt to correct this .Thinking that there are lights that passes inside a small diameter tube that I could run through the column into the small indicator.It would have to be about 1/8 inch diameter. Any other ideas would be appreciated/helpful Tried small indicator light but with the two wires and bulb it is too big

When I saw your question I thought "model train lights". So I found a website that has those, and some of them seem to be 12v. Take a look and see if it helps.
