I'm looking to replace these parts over the next week or so. I'm noticing some uneven wear on the belt. Should I stick with OEM motorcraft or has anyone tried a Dayco brand?

Todd,

What about a Dayco tensioner and idler pulley? I think Gates makes these parts too?

Mrlunchbox,

The belt is a half inch shorter.

I used a Goodyear 4060860 Gatorback Poly V-Belt (payed ~$22 from amazon).

This belt is .5 inch smaller than stock.

There a lot of posts on this site about how the .5 inch smaller belt is better. So I took everyones advice. Havent had any issue with it yet after three months.

I used the motor craft tensioner But the aftermarkets are just as good...... Airtex, Goodyear, gates, dayco......

I prefer Gates belts, they are the only thing I run.... I find the rubber in a Dayco belt is harder and cracks easier..

I also have the .5 shorter belt for over 50K miles and 6 years....
