Hello Everyone,

Anyone else have this happen? Lately when I drive my ST when I sit idling after its warmed up, or when I shut the engine off and first get out there is a rotten eggs smell coming from the tailpipe. I have always known the catalytic converter to be a cause of this on vehicles sometimes, but the ST is doing it EVERY time I drive it lately, and it didn't used to do it. I have not changed my gas type, and there is no check engine light on, and the ST is running fine otherwise. She just stinks... Any ideas?

I have read that if the car smells like that, then something is wrong, either lean or rich... Run the codes, or try to take it to a dealer...

This is normal in the winter colder months....

IF it is persistent and gets worse, try another gas staion....

IF it still continues, you may need a cat replaced..

The rotten egg smell MAY be ok in some situations but if you are smelling it all the time you NEED to have it checked. The smell is produced from an overfueled engine and a cat that is working overtime.
