How hard a job is it to replace the valvebody and solenoids if this is causing my reverse to not work correctly. What is the appx. cost?

Funny thing though, it still seems to work fine with no load, but with the trailer, the reverse doesn't work well at all.

Maybe you have a short in your trailer wiring and that is the problem???

I don't know that much about automatic transmissions, but it sounds like you're not getting enough fluid pressure to push the extra weight, maybe?

Rich Lunder could probably make an educated guess on this.

I have always had the same problem when trying to back a trailer since my ST was new. It feels like it just won't move the trailer, and sometimes it actually won't. I'm not sure what causes it, but I have had to shift to 4Low at times to back up with a load on it. Works fine in 4Low, so I never bothered to have it looked at.
