Replacing Driverside Headlight Issues

Hey guys... I just burned out my Driver side headlight and its been about 3 years since I had to replace the bulb. I picked up a set of new ones... But the issues is I can only get one of the Black things that lift up to move.



Is there a trick if its stuck?? Cause I really need to get this light changed ASAP...

since its been that long you might just have to pull a bit harder.

if that doesnt work. push the headlight in towards the engine bay and at the same time

pull the tab.

I have had luck using a small pry bar or a large screw driver, Wrap it in a rag, or old shirt and just pry it up against the radiator support.....

Pulled mine up with a pair of pliers. Grab close to the bend and it wont distort the keeper.

Ditto what Mark K said. I use pliers to pull them up, easy peasy, lemon squeezy. :grin:

I used vise grips. Tap them with a small hammer. A little of wd-40 will help also.

When you used the pliers did you bend the tab up? Did it not break?

Mine did not break or bend. Since you may have road salt on them. I would definitly soak them with some penetrent first.

Spray a lube on it today and then do the prying options tomorrow...



Will pop right up I bet..

I was able to get it... Used a pair of Vice Grips and used the Rad Support as leverage when pushing up... and it popped right up!



Thanks guys... Now I am really thinking I want to switch to an HID Light Set.
