radio auto volume

have an 07 xlt, w/ OEM 6 cd player, sat option, scrolling thru the menu options indicates the auto volume adjustment, where the volume adjusts automatically based on the speed of the vehicle. Owners manual indicates (if equipped), this function does not work and was wondering if there is a module to buy/install or a code or something to get this option to work as its a nice feature. thanks

I would take it in and see if it is covered under warranty. Usually, the radio is covered by the same 3/36 warranty as the rest of the Trac. Sounds like a defective radio.

It works off of the can bus for vehicle speed. I'm not sure on the regular radio, but on the nav unit, it works. Annoyingly well, as a matter of fact. It overcompensates for wind noise.

is there any way to check it out to see what's going going on or not going on, would lke to have it work as it is a nice feature. by the way, what is the can bus??

Mine works quite well...not as good as some of the GM rental cars I have though.
