painting plastic ext. shutters/adhesion promoter

I would like to paint the plastic shutters on the outside of my house.I have acrylic latex exterior paint that i used to paint the garage and front door.That is what i'm planning on using since it matches the original color of the shutters.Some of my neighbors have had theirs painted but they don't know what the painter added to the paint .

Are there any suggestions on additives for latex exterior paint to promote adhesion to the plastic shutters?

You can use a plastic primer. Ask the paint store, they will know what you're talking about.
