It is apparent to me that many of the regulars here are very disappointed in the offerings that Ford has been bringing to market. The presence of "R" makes him like a lightning rod. All the complaints about the poorly-designed, half-baked products are directed at him, because he is the only person we know to complain to that is directly involved in product design.



This is the second time I can remember "R" going off on a rant and "talking down" to the ST owners on this board. It was nice of him to give us the little clues about the new ST when it was being developed, but his clues built us up for a huge let down when the product was finally delivered.



Some days, I really miss the days when Ford would not allow their folks to post here. I'm not saying "R" should go, but perhaps we all should keep in mind that "R" isn't solely responsible for what is brought to market, and perhaps "R" can be a little more understanding about why we are so disappointed in Ford's products. We care about Ford's success, otherwise we wouldn't even be here.



I've always said we don't need Ford to sponsor our meets. They dragged us to Dallas in '05 when most wanted to go to Louisville again. The meets are about the people and the trucks they own, not about sponsors and freebies. I doubt that "R" has any say in whether Ford sponsors any future events, but even if he did I don't think it would effect attendance.

Josh, it's even worse than that. They want to merge with Renault, builders of the appropriately name "Fuego", and other less than stellar autos. Apparently, they are still profitable enough in Europe to have the cash to bail out Ford, if they choose to take on the "White Elephant".

I agree with TJR. This is one board I've really enjoyed coming to because it doesn't, or at least, didn't have all of the personal flaming that goes on on other boards. Even most of our arguments were about the facts (or what we perceived as the facts) or our opinions, not about us personally.

I really don't understand what the problem was originally. You posted something and some were skeptical or shot it down. So? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, wrong or right.



I have enjoyed my Sport Trac for 3 years now and hope to for another few. It is a versatile vehicle (seats 5, hauls a load, looks good doing it) and I think there are people that want it to be everything instead of what it is. Meaning it's not a sports car, economy car, heavy-duty hauler or luxury car.



I like the fact that Ford sponsors the meets. I went to the Dallas meet from California and would like to make it to Louisville in the future.



Like I said before, don't form a wrong opinion about the whole on just the words of a few.

If you'd been around the past few years you'd know that all those that you accuse of being being BA and such, have said many positive things about Ford, ST's etc. We who are a part of this site do so because we are generally happy with the ST. I find it hard to believe that I spoke with you in Louisville as the engineers I spoke with were decent people willing to listen to what I had to say whether negative or positive. I can't imagine my little brother, who is also an engineer at Ford, speaking to customers as you have.
