OT: Russia commences air strike against Georgia....

Russia can go back to gaining tight control of oil and natural gas to Europe so that they can bring Europe to its knees economically.



The next Cold War is already being waged, and it is being fought economically. So far, the US is not doing so well, and we are going to also be on our knees very soon, too.



BAAAAAAA! BAAAAAAAA!



Carry on, Sheeple.

And we get 70% of our oil supply from foreign sources. If this isn't a shining illustration of why we need to drill domestically off-shore, in ANWR, and other places in the US, I don't know what is. Just imagine what could happen to the world oil market if Putin really wants to reassert Russia's world prominence.

Actually, Georgia's pipeline is not as important to US as it is to EU. I think Georgia's best case scenario is that they give up both of the disputed territories and keep what is left. However, I doubt this country will even survive the month without intervention from other countries. Russia seems intent on assimilating Georgia into Russia...or at least bombing them until they have no means whatsoever to defend themselves.
