Is it better/make any difference to turn off O/D in city driving?? I've always wondered and have heard different answers....

No. There is no difference. The only reason you would turn the O/D off would be if your tranny is shifting in and out of fifth.

I don't turn the OD on until I reach 55mph on the highway. My Trac shifts into OD at 45mph (which I hit in the city all the time) when the OD is left on. I don't like driving below 2000 RPM if I can help it - sounds like the engine is "under load" at that RPM.

Just a matter of personal taste, really. I'm sure there's no harm in leaving the OD on all the time - except when towing.

Unless your in an eviroment that makes the tranny shift in and out constantly you want to leave the OD on.

Mountains and towing are an example when turning it off is a good thing to do.

The default setting is od ON... Done for a reason.
