O.K. I figured out the right tire size(with help) but now I need to know how much the bigger tires 255-40-22 AND 22" rims will affect gas milllage??????? Need Info ASAP. Thanks

if you have 255/70/16 OEM, they are the EXACT same size in height....

ONLY differance may be weight...

No change at all..

a "few MPG's" would be HUGE...

I agree with Todd. Other than a weight thing, you are all but identical.

Should be no real measurable change I would believe..

So are you guys saying that he won't lose mpgs by putting on a set of 22's. Over the years on personal vehicles I have done 3 sets of 20's. They all kept the same overall tire diameter as the original setup that was on there and on each vehicle there was a loss of no less than 2 mpg and one vehicle, my Magnum, lost 4 mpg.

Remember, it's not the weight, it's where the weight is located.

The stock wheels have weight (of the steel rim) located 8" out from the center. The new ones have the weight located 10" out from the center. That makes it harder to turn and that takes gasoline to happen.

When I upsize wheels. I always pay attention to offset and wieght. The heavier the rim and tire. You loose alot of control. It may look good but you do loose because of the unsrung weight.
