I realize the first was out yesterday. But just wanted to touch base on this.

Number 17 just reached the surface.

For these guys to survive the initial collapse as well as the long duration they have been there is pretty amazing.

The efforts that have gone into saving these guys is also amazing.

I was just commenting to a co-worker as to how good they look coming out of there. They look healthy, and in good spirits. Agreed it is amazing...

Saw that on the news, fantastic.

BTW, the compny that made this posible is from Houston, TX.

We rednecks are alot more intelligent than given credit...:bwahaha:

It's neat how this went from a tragedy - all believed/feared dead; to hopeful - all alive, possible to rescue around Christmas; to miracle - doing the rescue over 2 months ahead of schedule. Fingers crossed the last few get out of there okay.:haveabeer:

They are all out..

There are still five rescuers to pull up, but all is looking good.

Really happy that it ended as well as it did...

These miners were very lucky. The only mining accidents you hear about in the USA usually ends up with recovering bodies, or even worse, leaving the bodies down there.

Pretty sad that a 3rd world country takes better care of their own than we do.

Tom

Yep,,

#21 asked for both to be there when he came out. But only his girlfriend showed up. His wife sent a message saying that she is glad he is alive but had no desire to be there when he came out.

Tom, you are correct. The irony is that the rescue design came from Texas..

Makes perfect sense doesn't it?

We have had a number of successful rescues in this country. Typically, due to a cave-in, there are only bodies to recover, not survivors.

now that they are out, here is a little humor I heard on the radio this morning. Someone suggested they should have used Chinese rescuers and told the miners they made it all the way through the earth. Also, heard they were going to greet them all with pizza and beer but since they were "minors" they could only do the pizza.
